Fredericksburg
Fredricksburg is a fun place to visit with a German vibe and lots of little shops. Great German beer and food as well as other choices. Check out the christmas lights in the town square and ice skating!
The Preserve
Have you ever hugged an elephant? This place is really a must do for elephant and all animal lovers. We helped washed them, enjoyed their artwork and had our pictures taken together. Make reservations early, they are always sold out.
Becker Vineyards
Beautiful grounds, good wine and a nice place to sit outdoors. They had charcuterie boards last time I was there, food is often limited - as with most of the wineries - so please call ahead if you plan to eat at any of the wineries and not just enjoy the wine.
Safari Winery
Another favorite winery of ours, we enjoy the atmosphere and the reds. Try our favorite, the Kahawa out of South Africa with notes of tobacco and coffee.
Natural Bridge Caverns
Definately worth seeing and an easy walk in and out of the cavern.
Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch
This drive through wild animal park is right next to the cavern and both are easy to do in one day.
The Alamo
Take the time to go inside and follow the tour to really experience the Alamo.
San Antonio River Walk
We enjoying walking the riverwalk and having dinner or a cocktail at one of the many places along the river. It can be quite crowded on the weekends but the christmas lights are beautiful at night!
Dreamland Dripping Springs
So fun! Pickleball, goofy golf and drinks. They often have bands on the weekends.
The Salt Lick BBQ
Yum! Sure, the BBQ is great but the coleslaw is the best!
Blanco State Park
Wonderful spots for a picnic or just a walk along the river if the weather is nice.
Christmas Lights at Pedernales Electric Cooperative
Beautifully lit up for christmas! The town square has lights as well so check them both out when you are there. Hot chocolate is available from food trucks nearby.
Bullock Texas State History Museum
Located right next to the UT campus where Carolyn and Kam first met, this museum is definately worth visiting. We have all been several times and there is much to see and do. The view of the capitol building from the front of the museum is beautiful!
Chuy's
This is our favorite Tex-Mex place! An Austin original, don't go without trying the creamy jalapeno dip!

Zilker Metropolitan Park
An Austin staple! A wonderful display of Christmas lights at our downtown park. Tickets are available online as well as instructions for parking. Hot chocolate and snacks available. Dress warm! You won't want to miss any of the lights.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Wimberley Square
Wimberley is a cute little town not far from us and has several good restaurants.
