Carolyn and Jamie met during their freshman year in 2016 on a cold January night in Ann Arbor. It was a night filled with laughter, comically small hats, and cheap tequila. What emerged out of that night was not a romance but a beautiful friendship that lasted throughout their time in college. After 3 years of cheering each other on academically, athletically, and personally, they decided to let each other know that our feelings went beyond friendship. This was great timing, as Carolyn moved to Seattle six months later while Jamie remained in Ann Arbor to finish his last year of school. Miraculously, Jamie got a job in Seattle the following year and joined Carolyn in the Pacific Northwest. After three years of beautiful hikes, long ski days, and camping trips, they decided to move in together. Shortly after moving in together, in what was totally a mutual decision, Carolyn adopted their beloved puppy, Rio. At midday on Wednesday February 19th of 2025, on the frozen Lake Louise in Alberta, Jamie got down on one knee and Carolyn accepted his proposal. On Friday July 11 of 2025, Jamie and Carolyn were married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their families and the forests, mountains, and streams of the North Cascades. This beautiful friendship turned romance continues to thrive, and they are so grateful and excited to celebrate this with their closest friends and family this New Year's Eve.
