Rosamond Gifford Zoo
We've been on many dates to our small local zoo, our favorite visits included a behind the scenes meet and greet with their tamandua Derby who is very active and very sweet! We've also met their resident penguins. I highly recommend a visit if you have any free time before or after the wedding.
Destiny USA
Destiny USA is a large shopping and entertainment center with plenty to do, from go-karts, an indoor ropes course, or an interactive 5 Wits experience (highly recommend). It's also one of Carolyn's favorite places to wander and play Pokemon Go! It's conveniently located across the street from our recommended hotel (Embassy Suites by Hilton Destiny USA).
Onondaga Lake Park
A beautiful lakeside park with walking and biking trails, especially lovely in the fall. Perfect if you want some fresh air and a peaceful break. It's also one of Carolyn's favorite places to walk and play Pokemon Go!
Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub
Coleman's is a classic Syracuse Irish pub with a lively, welcoming atmosphere. When Carolyn first moved to Syracuse, she lived on Tipp (Tipperary) Hill. Coleman's is where Dain and Carolyn met playing bar trivia! It's a great spot for drinks, trivia, casual food, and a fun night out. You can't miss the neighborhood's famous traffic light where Tipp Hill's pride in its Celtic heritage shows - it's the only one of its kind with the green light above the red! To all our guests, please enjoy the atmosphere, the craic, and a pint or two.
Sakana-Ya Sushi Bar
Sakana-Ya is one of our favorite sushi spots, featuring fun conveyor belt-style dining. It's also where we had one of our first dates. We highly recommend it if you enjoy sushi!
Green Lakes State Park
Green Lakes State Park is a beautiful spot known for its striking blue-green glacial lakes and scenic walking trails. It's perfect for a peaceful walk or enjoying the stunning nature in Central New York. It's a special place for us as we took our engagement photos here!
Beak & Skiff Apple Hill Campus / 1911 Tasting Room
Beak & Skiff is a beautiful local orchard with apple picking, small animal farm, fresh cider, seasonal foods (think cider doughnuts) and scenic views, especially in the fall! It's also the home of 1911 Distillery, offering tasty ciders, strong spirits and a host of cocktails. A must visit location especially for our Florida guests who want a taste of a true Upstate New York fall.
Three Lives
Three Lives is a retro video game themed bar downtown with classic arcade games, creative cocktails (including the option to roll a D20 dice for a drink!), and a relaxed, nostalgic, nerdy vibe. There are even monthly themed meals. It's one of Dain's favorite spots and a fun place to hang out and unwind, especially if you enjoy games.
