FAQs

The Wedding Website of Carolyn Highland and Andy Maguire
Please feel free to reach out to Carolyn & Andy with questions that you don't see addressed here!
Question

Can I bring my kids or a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space at our venue, we've had to make some tough choices. While we love all your children, we are not able to accommodate children at any lodge events (besides our nieces and nephew). Please bring only the specific names on your invite. Children are welcome at outside events like Thursday beers at Alibi, Friday river float, and Saturday hike, but otherwise will not be able to attend. If you have a plus one, it will be indicated when you go to RSVP. Please reach out if we can help with arranging child care during the ceremony and reception.

Question

What is the weather like in the Sierra in late June?

Answer

Truckee/Tahoe is in a high desert climate, and as a result has large temperature fluctuations throughout the day! The average low & high temperatures this time of year are 38 and 78 degrees. Bring layers for the evening, especially if you plan on camping!

Question

Can I park at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There are about 70 spots in the lot at Rainbow Lodge and additional overflow parking down the street.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

No dogs are allowed at the venue--if you are coming from out of town and need to bring your dog(s), you and the dogs will need to stay off-site.

Question

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

The venue is a mix of grass, woodchips, stone steps, etc. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes.

Question

Will the couple be changing their last names?

Answer

Both Andy and Carolyn are keeping their last names! You can address things to "Andy and Carolyn" rather than "Mr & Mrs" or "The Highlands" or "The Maguires." Thank you!
