An easy hike/walk for those who are not acclimated to the elevation, or for anyone who just wants a scenic and quick walk while they visit. The weather is perfect in the mountains in August, just don't forget the sunscreen!
Our home parish! For those staying in/near Denver, this is the church we attend weekly. Very welcoming community and extremely beautiful area of town.
Caroline has been rafting multiple times, and although it can be an adrenaline rush at times, she has enjoyed every trip. Luckily, there are a few companies based right out of Idaho Springs!
Such a fun activity, only about 30 minutes from the venue, and 30 minutes from Denver. Worth the trip for anyone who loves beer (or those who don't) and hasn't had the chance to try an experience like this yet!
Our engagement location! Such a beautiful lookout spot, and easily accessible by car if you aren't used to the elevation. It includes a small loop to walk around, with picnic tables and scenic views. Worth a trip if you plan on going to Breckenridge or surrounding towns!
Perfect for those traveling with their family, the ropes course or zipline tours just outside of Idaho Springs are a blast! Even mom and dad can enjoy the fun (take it from Caroline's mom and dad, who definitely enjoyed the fun when they visited here).
Since our wedding ceremony is in Central City, it is the perfect opportunity for you and the family to visit one of the 10 (!!) casino and resorts in Black Hawk, CO. Ameristar was our personal favorite when we visited this town, but all of the casinos are unique in their own way.
One of our favorite day-trip spots! Estes Park is absolutely breathtaking, and this historic church outside of town is worth the visit if you're in the area. This is where we spend time together, praying and reflecting on the beauty that Colorado has to offer!
This immersive experience is great for a first-time visitor. In the heart of Denver, Meow Wolf is a museum that offers a unique experience for any age. Caroline has been 3 times, and will continue to recommend it to everyone!
Hot springs in Colorado are always a fun thing to do when visiting. The all-natural springs offer a "hot tub in nature", something that can be enjoyed by the entire family.
The town of Breckenridge is a beautiful mountain town, which we've gotten to spend plenty of time at together, and with Caroline's family. Not only is the tasting room delicious and fun, but Main Street Breckenridge has tons to offer, including ice cream and coffee at our favorite place, The Crown, as well as retail and restaurants for everyone to enjoy.
One of our favorite hikes ever! The scenery is beautiful, and there's a never-ending view of mountains, trees, and tons of wildlife. Be aware, this hike can be pretty difficult, and we would only recommend trying this if you're used to the altitude of Colorado (or just ambitious enough to find out!)
