Virginia Guidelines
Good news!! The Virginia governor recently announced new restrictions that will go into effect April 1. Outdoor social gatherings have been expanded to 100 people. We are so excited to spend our special day with you all.
Ceremony
The ceremony will take place indoors at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton, VA. Currently, all guests are able to attend the ceremony with comfortable social distancing. Given that the ceremony is indoors, all guests will be required to wear masks during the entirety of the celebration. Virginia guidelines state that anyone aged ten and over is required to wear a face covering inside and it is recommended that children older than two wear face coverings.
Transportation
We are providing mini buses from The Blackburn Inn to and from the reception at 12 Ridges. Guests will be required to wear a mask and windows will be open for extra air flow, so bring a jacket!
Reception
Our reception is outdoors at a large vineyard. We have reserved the entire property and will be taking advantage of the space so we can spread out and stay safely socially distanced. The festival theme helps us out here, as we will have several "stages" with various activities. Food and drink- Our caterer is ensuring safe handling of all food and drink during the cocktail hour and reception. Social distancing- Tables will be spaced accordingly with limited guests counts at each table. Masks- Masks will be required based on the governor's mandate. Extra masks will be provided. Sanitizing stations- Hand sanitizer will be provided at several locations around the vineyard.
Hotel and Travel
Guests planning to fly to the wedding will be sent an N95 mask by the couple to be worn on the plane. We have rented a tent at The Blackburn Inn that will be used as an outdoor gathering space Friday - Sunday. The tent will be the location for Friday night welcome drinks, Saturday night after party, and Sunday morning breakfast. Feel free to use the tent at any point during the weekend to mingle, hang, party, play, nap, whatever your heart desires!
Quarantine and COVID Testing
If you have not yet been vaccinated and are willing and able, we request that you be COVID tested the week of the wedding. If receiving a test is not possible, we request that you please be mindful of the other guests and quarantine, stay home, isolate, etc. for 7 days prior to the event, as best you can. Please stay home if you aren't feeling well in any way (especially fever, chills, sore throat, cough, stomach ache). We will celebrate with you another time!
