Some of the most idyllic views of Manhattan on the water. Recommend starting on the south end of the Promenade and ending at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

A new wine bar from the owners of Frankie’s 457 Spuntino right next door.
Governors Island
First of all, you get to ride the ferry there. Second of all, there’s bike rentals and trails around a former military base, AND an oyster bar. It is a feat of urban renewal and worth the trip.
Insa Korean BBQ & Karaoke
Caroline's favorite karaoke spot, hands-down. The local sochu and BBQ is also excellent.
Kings County Distillery & Tasting Room
A visit to the Brooklyn Navy Yard is worth the time, especially if you stop by King’s County’s whiskey distillery and tasting room housed in the Gatehouses on Sands Street. Offers tours of the distillery and Boozeum.
Milk Bar
Visit this bakery (a Momofuku offshoot) for quirky and inventive desserts from celebrity pastry chef Christina Tosi.
Minibar
It's called Minibar for a reason – very small, but a great spot for a drink to end the evening.
New York Transit Museum
Housed in a 1936 subway station, this museum features interactive exhibits and vintage trains.
Olmsted
Welcoming restaurant that grows many ingredients (and chickens!) in its backyard and offers innovative chef tasting menus. Make a reservation in advance for dinner, or walk-in and sit in the garden for cocktails and dessert.
Prospect Park
Highly recommend a jaunt around the park, which is arguably better than the more famous Central Park. Not too touristy, not too crowded.
Statue of Liberty Museum
Anticipated to open in May 2019, this new museum on the Statue of Liberty Island will enhance the experience. Worth checking out even if you've been to Lady Liberty before.
