Question

What's Carroll Gardens all about?

Answer

We chose Carroll Gardens to have our wedding for its low-key, family-oriented vibe. It's a historically Italian-American neighborhood full of small restaurants and bakeries, shopping, beautiful homes and churches, and the occasional Virgin Mary statue. Here's a short documentary (http://www.neighborhoodslice.com/2015/04/21/carroll-gardens-brooklyn/) that goes into some of the history of the neighborhood.

Question

Which airport should I fly in/out of?

Answer

The New York City metropolitan area is served by three international airports: JFK, LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark (EWR). Although it is possible to use public transportation, you may prefer to take a cab to and fro. A cab from LGA to Central Brooklyn is around $40. Be sure to get in the official NYC yellow taxi line, and do not accept offers for rides from people on the sidewalk or in black cars. Alternatively, you can request an Uber or Lyft and meet your driver at the designated pick-up areas.

Question

I’m traveling with small children who need car seats. How do we get around?

Answer

If you bring your own car seat, taxi drivers are required by law to let you install it. If not, and you only need one car seat, you can request cars with a car seat on Uber & Lyft. If more than one car seat is needed, we recommend using one of the car services below. Surcharges per seat range from $5-$20. As a general rule of thumb, it's best to call a day in advance. ARECIBO CAR SERVICE 855.428.0222 EASTERN CAR SERVICE 866.499.7177 KID CAR Most kid-friendly but perhaps most costly car service. Book anywhere from 30 min to 30 days in advance on the app. KIDMOTO Kidmoto offers rides to/fro Newark, JFK, and LaGuardia airports. Book on the app. LEGENDS LIMOUSINE 888.534.3637 Highly rated for family friendliness. Book online, via phone, or on the Legends app.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Head on over to our Where to Stay page for a list of recommended hotels and rentals near Carroll Gardens. We realize a lot of families traveling from out of town will extend their trip, so we aren't prescriptive on where you should stay.

Question

How do I get to the venues?

Answer

The F or G subway train to the Carroll St or Smith-9th St stations will get you to where you need to be. Our venues are a short walk from both stations. Depending on where you are staying, you may prefer to take a taxi. We can help coordinate car pooling in the same cab for groups that are staying close together, just let us know where you are staying.

Question

Is there parking at the ceremony or after party?

Answer

Our venues are located in a residential neighborhood where street parking is first-come, first-serve. If you don't have any luck, there are two parking garages within walking distance of our venues. MTP BOND STREET 363 Bond St 212.575.5335 QUIK PARK 365 Bond St, enter on 2nd St 718.422.0450

Question

Is the wedding outdoors?

Answer

Yes, we will be in a backyard for our ceremony, during which guests will be seated. In the event of rain, there will be tents. Following the ceremony, cocktails and brunch service will take place in the backyard and partially covered stable house, which will have fans (but no air conditioning).

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Backyard chic! We want you to look good and feel good while being outdoors in the summer heat. Don your fancy hat, sunglasses and breathable, light-colored fabrics. Seersucker highly encouraged!

Question

I have dietary restrictions/food allergies.

Answer

While there’s something for everyone on the menu, we take food allergies very seriously. Please indicate your specific allergies or restrictions in your RSVP so we can let the restaurant know. We want our menu to be healthy and safe for everyone.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive promptly at 12 pm through the entry with direct backyard access at the address specified on your invitation.

Question

What time should I arrive at the after party?

Answer

Come and go as you please between 8 and 11 pm. We will have a champagne toast at 8:30.
