Elizabeth is Caroline's amazing older sister. Growing up in San Antonio, Caroline always envied Elizabeth's collection of 90s grunge tapes and CDs. These days she loves being an aunt to Rose and Henry and sister-in-law to Jon, who all live with Elizabeth in Paris. We're so grateful that Elizabeth will be able to make the trip to NYC for the wedding!!
Julia Gruberg

Julia and Laura go all the way back to November of '89. In addition to Sister, Julia also is Bandmate in "Strange Fire," an Indigo Girls cover band spectacular.
Matthew Berler

Matthew is Caroline's younger brother. Growing up they spent many hours watching stand-up comedy and the family VHS collection together. They've traveled the world with their grandmother Martha, inlcuding trips to Spain, Russia, and Australia. Matthew lives in Manhattan and recently became a doctor of Psychology.
Mike Axelrod

Laura met Mike at Skidmore College's freshman orientation for theater in August of 2007. They performed together later that year in Saratoga Performing Arts Center's "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," and Mike went on to an illustrious acting career. Their friendship is strengthened by a mutual love of theater and literature, Thomas Cromwell, and cats!
Alex Wempe

Caroline and Alex met in the third grade. In high school, they enjoyed going to hear lots of live music including The Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, Austin City Limits, and The Warped Tour, among others. Alex was late to get her driver's licence, so Caroline did most of the driving, which was probably for the best. Alex lives in Austin with her husband Ben and sons Shep and Elijah.
Clare Lugli Harker

Clare and Laura met at the transfer student orientation at Wellesley College in January 2009. They both lived in Dower Hall, the old carriage house and servants quarters(!) at the far end of campus. They quickly bonded over their love of reality TV and ABBA, and have been known to indulge in a high tea service and sushi buffet in their day!
Sara Berman

Caroline and Sara also met in elementary school and had many fun times in highschool with Alex as well as in Austin, at the Riverhouse, and The Lazy J Ranch with Tal McIver. When Sara converted to Judaism before marrying Daniel, Caroline imparted her knowlege of Jewish humor and cuisine. Sara lives in Austin with Daniel and their children Dalia and Isaac.
Danielle Gaglini (DG)

Danielle and Laura met at the transfer student orientation at Wellesley College in January of 2009, and their friendship has only deepened since then. They have visited one another in Boston, NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and traveled to Costa Rica, New Orleans and the Adirondacks over the years.
Jacqueline Carrillo

Caroline met Jacqueline on the basketball team in 8th grade. They later lived together in Bushwick when Caroline was at NYU and Jacqui was at Parsons. Caroline and Jacqui enjoyed many nights out dancing at the Pyramid Club and attended many Halloween and New Years parties together.
Vika Aronson

Vika and Laura met at Skidmore College's freshman orientation for theater in September 2007. Laura has been lucky enough to have Vika live nearby for much of her twenties, whether it's Chelsea & Harlem in New York City, or Berkeley & San Francisco in California. Open mics, Black Lives Matter protests, folk music festivals and clothing-optional hot springs, even a summer trip throughout Italy - this friendship has covered a lot of ground!
Rebecca Benson

Caroline met Rebecca while studying film at School of Visual Arts. They connected immediately through their love of Seinfeld and cats. They hang out often at Prospect Park and Fort Tilden and Caroline has enjoyed visits to Connecticut with Rebecca for Jewish holidays and Thanksgiving.
Chloe Bishop

Laura and Chloe met in freshman biology at the Bronx High School of Science, and stayed close throughout high school. They worked on the musicals and plays (Laura onstage and Chloe leading the tech crew), and were regulars at the midnight screenings of Rocky Horror Picture Show. After the hourlong commute between their teenage homes in Manhattan and Queens, they are now blessed with only a few blocks between their Carroll Gardens apartments.
Olivia Schaeffer

Caroline and Oliva met through their mutual friend Libby Parsons. They lived in Prospect Heights in the same apartment building, Seinfeld style. (Caroline was Jerry and Olivia was Kramer.) They had many fun times hanging out on their roof back then and continue to enjoy trips to Watermill, and brunches and dinners in NYC.
Sarah Finkle
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Laura met as freshmen at Skidmore College and bonded immediately over the irreverent (and obnoxious) internet humor of the day, and the amazing tuna sandwiches at the Student Center. Sarah has opened Laura's eyes to RuPaul's Drag Race, textile art, and the Capital District of NY, and Laura has shown Sarah the wonder of Murray's Bagels in NYC and Homeroom Mac and Cheese in Oakland, CA.
