Maid of Honor
Bride's older sister Lindsey is my older sister but also my oldest friend. That's probably the reason we share a silly love of T-rex dinosaurs and garden gnomes and laugh hysterically at jokes no one else seems to understand. She has always been a loving and supportive sister and I am incredibly thankful to have her. She's been my role model for as long as I can remember and I cannot imagine anyone else as my maid of honor.
Bridesmaid
Bride's Texas work wife Kyndra and I worked together in a Dallas suburb hospital on the same team, making her my 'work wife'. When we first met, I knew she would be a forever friend. She's the life of the party, lights up the room and truly brightens my life. Her laugh is infectious and she keeps me on my toes looking for ways to turn ordinary days into adventures!
Bridesmaid
Bride's freshman year roommate I first met Addie on Elon University's freshman move in day. While we technically each had our own closet sized room, I considered Addie to be my roommate. She was the person I went to for advice or a shoulder to cry on and she quickly became more like family than a friend. More than 12 years later, that's still true.
Bridesmaid
Bride's sorority big sister Sophie and I first met at Elon undergrad through our sorority. She quickly became someone I greatly admired and looked up to! Once, she even spent an hour hiding in a giant box, just to pop out and surprise me! Sophie is known for her encouraging words and her affectionate, loving spirit. Sophie is someone who is always willing to stand by my side, no matter the circumstances.
Bridesmaid
Bride's friend from graduate school Corrie and I first met in graduate school and became friends on a night out at the local pub. Corrie is known for living her life to the fullest and is always up for trying something new. I'm constantly inspired by her! She's one of the most considerate, thoughtful and loyal people I know. No matter the ups and downs of life, I know I can count on Corrie to be there for the entire journey!
Bridesmaid
Bride's friend from graduate school Jaclyn and I shared in all the graduate school shenanigans in between the long hours studying. We initially bonded over our love of beaches, poolside wine and our rescue cats! Jaclyn has always been a loyal and caring friend with the sweetest personality. Jaclyn is known for always putting her whole heart into each and every thing that she does. I know I can count on her for many cherished laughs and still quite a few shenanigans!
Best Man
Groom's friend from college Shane and I have been friends since the very first days of our college lives. We played together on our college soccer team and pledged a fraternity together, spending the next four years involved in all manner of shenanigans. He and I have shared in the greatest of times, and have stood beside each other in the toughest. I stood as Shane's Best Man when he married his wonderful wife, Emily, and have remained close with both of them ever since. I am very excited and extremely happy that 15 years after our first meeting, Shane will be standing as my Best Man.
Groomsman
Groom's friend from paramedic school Shawn and I met in EMT/Paramedic school. I think at first perhaps we just recognized each other as competition, but we quickly became friends. We have worked together, lived together, and had more good times together than we can count. Shawn and I are similar in many ways which means we get along just as well as we get into trouble together. Shawn's one of those people I can always rely on and even though we don't see one another nearly enough. I'm so glad Shawn will be joining me on my wedding day just as I did with him on his.
Groomswoman
Groom's friend from nursing school Jenny and I met during nursing school. Even though she came from California and I came from Texas, we quickly became friends. Jenny is one of those people that can brighten anyone's day and has an infectious smile. Whenever we're around each other it's always a good time and always many laughs to be had. She and her husband Dave have become very good friends of mine and Caroline's over the past couple years despite living on opposite coasts. Despite it being non-traditional, Jenny didn't hesitate when I asked her to be a grooms-woman. Obviously I'm very glad she said yes, and can't wait to see her and Dave on our big day!
Groomsman
Groom's friend from Snyder, TX paramedic station Jason and I met when I took my first paramedic job in Snyder. I and many others simply call him "Guynes" as we worked with at least four Jason's in our small west Texas area. Guynes was both a friend and a mentor to me when I first started my career. There wasn't a whole lot to do in our small town so Guynes and I got pretty decent at stirring up trouble in our off time. We got to be like brothers and I still count him as such. Like all of my groomsmen, I don't get to see Guynes nearly enough, but our friendship has never suffered for it. I'm very excited and thankful he will be able to join me on our wedding day!
Groomsman & Father of the Groom
Groom's father Scott is my dad, and the best one I could ask for. Anyone who knows the two of us, knows that in many ways I am his mini-me. We walk alike, talk alike and share many of the same interests and aptitudes. I owe a lot to both my parents and can honestly say that everything I am today is because of BOTH my mom and my dad. My parents always supported me, even though my endeavors were often far and wide and demanded much of their time. They've always had my back and helped me when times were tough. Dad taught me all the things a man should know, and mom brought out the kinder and gentler side in me. I can't thank them both enough, I'd never have been the kind of man deserving of someone like Caroline without them. I'm so happy that they'll both be there to see us get married.
Groomsman & Groom's Brother-in-law
Groom's brother-in-law Dustin came into my life when he married my sister, Joni. From day one, he treated me like a brother. One of Joni's favorite stories to tell is about the time she and Dustin took me out to eat and I ordered so much that she and Dustin had salad for dinner to keep the bill down. Dustin never said a word. That's just the kind of guy he is. He and my sister have always been supportive of me. Dustin let me ride along with him at the fire station starting when I was just fourteen, and this is arguably one of the biggest reasons I later went into EMS. Most importantly though, Dustin has never treated me like anything other than a brother and I am extremely glad he will be joining me as one of my groomsmen on our wedding day.
Junior Bridesmaid
Groom's niece Abbey is vibrant and full of joy. She, like her mother, enjoys volunteering in the community and is going to grow up to be an amazing woman. Like her mom, dad and uncle, she has taken an interest in the medical field, starting an introductory nursing program through her high school this coming year. We are so happy to have Abbey in our lives and look forward to her being part of our special day!
Junior Bridesmaid
Groom's niece Ava is a beautiful and talented young lady who is full of life. She has an amazing talent in art and robotics and a brilliant mind. She regularly surprises all of us with her cleverness and keen of insight. Despite her age, it is obvious to anyone that meets her that she will grow up to do amazing things. We're so happy to have Ava in our lives and so glad she'll be a part of our big day!
