Castle in the Clouds
Castle in the Clouds in itself is a great place to visit! There are several hiking trails on the property consisting of varying difficulties and they also offer tours of the estate as well.
Kancamagus Highway
Driving the Kancamangus Highway can offer some really gorgeous views of the White Mountains, especially during October when the leaves are changing. Traffic can get heavy on this road, highly recommend checking this one out as early in the morning as you can.
Sandwich Notch Road
The Sandwich Notch is our little secret, Jon actually proposed to Caroline at Beede Falls right off of Sandwich Notch road! It's an incredibly scenic road in the fall, can be quite steep, but worth the drive.
Mount Washington Cruises
Take a cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee! They offer several different tours, such as sunset dinner cruises, narrated scenic tours, and even Sunday brunch cruises.
Meredith Train Station
Take a scenic train ride out of Meredith, NH. They offer a 2-hour train ride cruising along the very scenic Lake Winnipesaukee. They do also have a scenic rail bike ride that is out of Laconia, NH as well.
Conway Scenic Railroad
The Conway Scenic railroad offers a few different train rides that are fun.
North Conway
North Conway is always a stop for us in the fall. It's a nice town to walk around, check out the shops, and grab a bite to eat (we love May Kelly's).
Portsmouth
Venture out to the Seacoast of NH and checkout Portsmouth! There is so much beauty and history in Portsmouth it's a must-see. We have so many recommendations I couldn't list them all individually but we would recommend touring the John Langdon house, touring the USS Albacore (really neat submarine!!), taking a boat ride with Portsmouth Harbor Cruise and learn about the history of the port, walk around downtown checking out all the shops, take a walk through Prescott Park and watch the boats come in and admire all the neat bridges, and enjoy plenty of good-eats in Portsmouth! Laconia Antique Center
For all my antiquers out there, this place is always fun to check out. They have a bunch of model trains on the second floor as well that very neat.
Kellerhaus
Fancy some homemade ice cream or fun chocolates? Kellerhaus is a great place to stop at!
Funspot
Would you believe me if I said the largest arcade in the world is located right here in NH? Well, it is! They also offer bowling and have indoor mini-golf.
Gusto Italian Café
Nice cafe open for breakfast and lunch, definitely one to check out and grab a bite.
May Kelly's Cottage
This is one place we always stop at anytime we're in North Conway. May Kelly's Cottage is an incredibly cozy restaurant with incredible comfort meals. You can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu, but we both highly recommend the French onion soup!
The Corner House
Really cozy restaurant located in Sandwich NH
The Boro Baking Co
Fantastic little bakery located in the lakes region offering pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and sandwiches.
New England Dragway
Interested in seeing how fast you can get your car down the dragway? Look no further!! The New England Dragway happens to be hosting a Street Night on 10/03/2025 and for just $30 you can take your own car down the dragway! Or you can watch other people do so for $10 a person. Hellll yeah brother!
Lago
Cozy Italian restaurant on the lake with great food, great views, and limoncello.
Surfside Burger Bar
Great casual burger place with gluten free and vegan options. Very tasty fried jalapenos. Definitely a good option for a relaxed lunch!
Mill Falls Marketplace
Shop for some treasures at the various shops, grab a coffee at Identity Coffee Co, get a bite to eat at Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristorante, or stop in at Ben & Jerry's for a sweet treat! Mills Falls Marketplace is a quaint little area to take a stroll through to check out all the shops.
