If you’re headed into Camden and want a great coffee as you explore the quaint downtown, Zoot is your spot.
A Camden staple for quick breakfast to bring with you. Try a bacon, egg and cheese with cream cheese on an everything or sea salt bagel.
Take a drive or hike up Mt. Battie for a beautiful view of Penobscot Bay. If you've seen any photos of Camden harbor, its likely from the top. On a clear day, you can see out to the Islands off the coast and watch sail boats come in and out of the harbor. Short and steep trail head off Megunticook St (Mt. Battie Trailhead) or you can go into Camden Hills State Park.
If you’re looking for the pinnacle of Maine handcrafted goods, whether that is local jewelry, home goods or gifts. We find ourselves going in and walking around Once A Tree every time we visit.
A lovely museum showcasing work of Andrew Wyeth, Louise Nevelson and local artists, the Farnsworth has a great collection.
Walk the mile long jetty out to the Rockland Breakwater Light House. The sound of the waves on the rocks is mesmerizing and the view back toward Rockland harbor is beautiful! Important - the jetty is made of uneven granite boulders with irregular gaps throughout (watch your step!). We strongly recommend sneakers and a warm layer as it can feel windy as you get all the way out.
The Samoset is home to a renowned oceanside golf course. Highly recommend for any golfer coming!
Take a relaxing sail from Camden harbor. BYOB and enjoy a glass of wine or beer sailing through Penobscot Bay. Bring a warm layer as it may be a bit chilly, but worth it to get on the water and see the Maine coast from a classic Schooner.
Very cool collection of historic cars and planes! A great rainy day activity
Sea Dog is our favorite spot for a beer and a burger with a view of Camden harbor. Plus they have a cute wall of Sea Dogs and a great logo with beloved merch.
Upscale farm to table with great specialty cocktails. A must go for any foodie!
Truly excellent Thai food restaurant known for locally sourcing ingredients. Though commonly referred to as a Thai restaurant, probably more accurately described as Thai / Asian fusion. A Stanclift family favorite!
Classic Maine Seafood right on Camden harbor. Of note, they don’t take reservations however the mussels, crab cakes and lobster is worth the wait.
