The average high in Savannah on November 1 is around 73° F and the average low is around 60°F. We are hoping it will be lovely and mild!
We highly recommend staying in the downtown historic district of Savannah. It is very pedestrian friendly and there is a lot to explore: the riverfront, historic squares, shopping, restaurants and historic sites. If you are looking at a map, this is the area between Forsyth Park and the Savannah River. Another fun neighborhood to consider staying in is the Starland District, which is just on the other side of Forsyth Park from Downtown Savannah. It has an artsy vibe with vintage shops, record stores, breweries, funky dive bars, and a great, graffiti-drenched food truck park. This is also a pedestrian friendly neighborhood, but will be a longer walk (may require driving) to wedding events than the downtown neighborhood. We give specific rental and hotel recommendations (and discount info) on the Travel page of our website.
The ceremony is being held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Downtown Savannah (311 East Harris Street). It is located in Troup Square. Fun Fact: The Christmas carol "Jingle Bells" was written by this church's then music director, James Lord Pierpont, in 1857.
Please arrive at the ceremony between 4pm-4:30pm. There will be special music being performed during this half hour and the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm.
The ceremony is located in Downtown Savannah, an easy walk from all of our recommended accommodations. Ride-share is also available for those staying further away or who are unable to walk the distance. If you decide to drive to the ceremony, know that parking is limited on a Saturday evening in Downtown Savannah. There is street parking as well as the Liberty Parking Deck (15 W Liberty St) which is about an 8 minute walk from the ceremony location.
Yes! We will have transportation available for guests to take from the ceremony to the reception. The transportation will also return guests to Troup Square after the reception concludes.
