New River Gorge National Park is one of our favorite places to travel. We are excited to welcome you to this beautiful area of our state. There is so much to explore!

New River Gorge National Park & Preserve

Though New River Gorge National Park is the newest national park in the country, the New River is the oldest river in North America. Stop by the Canyon Rim Visitor's Center to learn more about the park and see an amazing view of the New River Gorge Bridge. Take the Fayette Station Road from the Visitor's Center and drive the route people used before the New River Gorge was built. This road provides an amazing view under the New River Gorge Bridge. For hikers, we recommend Long Point Trail, Endless Wall Trail, and Kaymoor Miner's Trail (explore an abandoned coal mine!).

Adventures on the Gorge

We have been ziplining with Adventures on the Gorge and it was an amazing experience. They also offer the world-class white water rafting, an aerial adventure course, paddle boarding, and more. WV residents receive 15% all lodging and experiences through Adventures on the Gorge.

Babcock State Park

Babcock is one of our favorite state parks in WV. It features the iconic Glade Creek Grist Mill. Be sure to get a picture on the WV swing!

Bridge Walk

This is for the thrill seekers! Walk on a catwalk beneath the entire New River Gorge Bridge. This is on Caroline's bucket list.
