Blackwater Falls is celebrating with a 90-minute interpretive hike at 10 am Saturday morning. Here are the details: National Trails Day - June 7 @ 10:00 am Join a naturalist in Blackwater Falls Lodge Lobby for this interpretive hike along a section of three park trails. The forest is a mix of conifers and northern hardwoods. Expect to experience plants and perhaps wildlife that characterize a mountain habitat such as mountain holly, mountain ash, serviceberry and more. The hike is less than 2 miles along a natural rock and root strewn trail with little change in elevation, and participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, pack water and be prepared for wet or muddy areas. Expect the hike to last around 70-90 minutes.
