Where should I stay?

Answer

We have a block of rooms available at the Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge. There is a two-night minimum at the lodge. Call 304-259-5216. The block of rooms is available until April 6th, 2025. Other places to stay in Davis, WV: Blackwater Falls State Park also has cabins on site. The Billy Motel Cannan Valley Resort State Park (cabins and hotel rooms)

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Davis, WV is more like Canada than the mid-Atlantic. Be prepared with a sweater, jacket, or wrap for the possibility of a cool day. The ceremony will be outside.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Festive casual: think sundresses, khakis, collared shirts, and comfortable shoes. Bring layers - the ceremony will be outside on a grass lawn. High heels might be challenging in the grass.

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside on the lawn behind the Blackwater Falls Lodge. We will walk indoors to the reception space. No driving or shuttling needed!

Will you serve alcohol?

Answer

Yes. We will have a selection of beer, cider, and wine available. We ask that you enjoy responsibly. We will also have an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks available: coffee, iced tea, and soft drinks. You may purchase liquor and mixed drinks in the hotel restaurant/bar until 9:00 pm

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Yes! We hope you will join us on the dance floor. We are so excited to celebrate with each of you and we are excited about the opportunity to laugh, celebrate, and dance the evening away.

What time is the event over?

The reception will be done promptly at 10:00 pm as we must respect the other guests in the lodge.
