Things To Do

Durham is a vibrant and growing small city that is home to tons of great restaurants, bars and activities. A few spots / activities we recommend: Walk around the 9th Street area. A well known main street near Duke’s east campus, it is home to many nice shops, cafés and Durham food staples such as Cosmic (casual Mexican food) and Monuts (outstanding breakfast/brunch). Hang out in the Motorco / Fullsteam area. Some fun breweries / hang out areas all within a short walking distance. Motorco, Boxcar, Fullsteam, Parts & Labor, and Kotoku Surf Club are some of our favorites, to name a few. Walk or Run the “WA Duke Trail,” a ~5k loop around the Washington Duke and Golf Club property. Beautiful trail particularly in the morning or evening! Play golf at the Washington Duke – you can arrange a tee time at: https://golf.duke.edu/tee-times/ Explore the Duke Gardens on central campus.

New York Times: "36 Hours in Durham"

The New York Times also recently did a "36 Hours in Durham" piece with some great recommendations.
