We met last summer while Caroline was an intern and Logan was a pastor in Winston-Salem, NC. Working together almost daily provided many opportunities to talk and spend time together. We went on our first date on the night the internship ended, before Caroline returned to Raleigh for the fall semester.
Logan continued serving the church in Winston-Salem, while Caroline returned to Wake Forest for her seminary program. We took turns visiting each other about every other week, which meant there were a lot of phone calls in between. Some of our favorite dates were a concert at the Stevens Center, hiking at Pilot Mountain, visiting the NC State Fair, and dragging Main in my (Logan's) hometown.
While Logan was "out of town" Caroline thought she was meeting a Spanish-speaking woman and a friend at the seminary chapel. Little did she know that Logan had been with her family in Apex all weekend and picking up her custom engagement ring in Durham. Waiting behind the columns with a bouquet of roses, Logan popped out just as she started up the stairs. It was the biggest shock of her life, especially when it became obvious this was no ordinary surprise.
Since getting engaged, we've continued growing closer in our relationship, going on fun dates, and spending lots of time with family and friends. We are excited for our future together, though we don't know what all that entails. We couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement. Thank you for being about our story and we look forward to celebrating with you in October!
