Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

There are plenty of lodging options in and around the Vail. You are welcome to stay at any accommodation that fits your needs! Vail Village, Lionshead Village, and West Vail have plenty of hotels and most are close to a bus stop. We recommend places like Antlers at Vail and Evergreen Lodge to be close to all of the festivities of the weekend! Please see the Travel section for more. Vail has a free public parking structure during the day but there is a fee for overnight parking (after 2am). As Vail is a mountain town, Uber and Lyft are extremely limited. Do not rely on these services. However, Vail operates a free, clean, and safe shuttle to get you almost anywhere you need to be within the town!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we welcome children at the ceremony, the cocktail hour & reception are an adults-only celebration. We recommend sharing a Vail Valley babysitter amongst friends or family. Resources can be found on the Travel section of our site. Please reach out to Margaret Parrish or Caroline Parrish if you have questions.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that you wear semi-formal attire. Examples include a suit or sport coat/blazer and tie; cocktail, tea-length, or floor-length dresses or dressy separates. The temperature can drop to 40 degrees during the evening at this time of year, so a light jacket or wrap is recommended for the reception. Cocktail hour will be outside on the patio and the reception is indoors.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 PM, so please arrive early to park and get situated at the Chapel. Note that Beaver Creek is approximately 20 minutes from Vail Village, so plan accordingly! Additional details for the ceremony and reception can be found on the SCHEDULE page.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is free parking for the Chapel at Beaver Creek located at the Ford Hall Parking Garage in addition to 15 parking spots located directly in front of the chapel. For the Reception at Vail Golf and Nordic Center, onsite parking is NOT available. However, we will be providing shuttles to and from the reception for all wedding guests! Pick up locations at Vail Welcome Center and Lionshead Welcome Center beginning at 4:45PM. Park for free at the Vail Transportation Center or Lionshead Parking Structure until 2am! SHUTTLES WILL BEGIN AT 4:45PM VAIL VILLAGE WELCOME CENTER - 241 S Frontage Road E. Vail, CO - meet at top level, east side entrance of Welcome Center LIONSHEAD WELCOME CENTER - 395 E Lionshead Circle, Vail, CO - meet street level, in front of Welcome Center

Question

How should I prepare for the altitude?

Answer

Vail is over 8,000 ft above sea level which means you may be at risk for acute mountain sickness. Symptoms may include headache, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, or difficulty sleeping. In the days leading up to your trip make sure to stay well hydrated! Drinking more water and supplementing with electrolytes can help you avoid or lessen symptoms. Remember, altitude can also affect how quickly you feel the effects of alcohol!

Question

What is Vail like?

Answer

Vail is a charming and picturesque alpine village known for its vibrant atmosphere, cobblestone streets, and European-inspired architecture. It's a highly walkable town with boutique shops, art galleries, restaurants, and cafes. The summer is the perfect time for outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, and exploring surrounding nature trails. Lush green landscapes and colorful wildflowers begin to bloom and cover the mountainsides. Due to summer afternoon storms it is advised you keep an umbrella handy.
