Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! Shuttles will be running to and from the hotel blocks on the day of the wedding. See shuttle timing below. Shuttles to Pippin Hill • Graduate: 5:15 PM • Omni: 5:00 PM • Home2Suites: 5:15 PM • Courtyard Marriott: 5:15 PM Returning to Charlottesville There will be a shuttle departing at 10:30 PM and then again at midnight. Please note that Ubers usually take a while to arrive at Pippin, so if you plan to leave prior to 10:30 PM, we suggest pre-ordering a car.

If your invitation includes the wording, "and guest", you may bring a date.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our Welcome Party is Dressy Casual - dresses, slacks or jumpsuits for the ladies and a button down and slacks for the guys (jacket & tie optional). Our Wedding Ceremony and Reception are Black Tie Optional- dark suits or tuxes for the guys and long dresses, dressy cocktail dresses, or fancy pant suits for the ladies. Our Farewell Brunch is Casual Attire - jeans & tees, khakis & golf shirts, or casual dresses & sandals are all appropriate.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We want you to have a good time, so if your children's names are not included on your invitation, we ask that you get a sitter. Feel free to reach out to Caroline, and she can find you a great sitter through the UVA Graduate School system.

Can I drive to the ceremony?

Answer

We will be providing transportation to and from the wedding, but if you choose to drive, we ask that you pick your car up from Pippin Hill no later than 10:00 AM Sunday morning.

What are some things to do in the area?

Answer

Charlottesville was Caroline's home for over 2 years, and it became one of our favorite places ever! There are so many outdoor activities, historical sites, vineyards, breweries and fabulous restaurants. Consider arriving early or staying late to take advantage of all this cool city has to offer. Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered at Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Fete, & Weezie Towels, as well as at Zola. Links to our registries can be found on the "Registry" tab of our website.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Answer

There is a gravel path leading down to the venue and a lot of grassy areas, so we recommend wearing a block heel!
