In general there are many European cities that are super easy to reach from Frankfurt, either by train or plane. Some of our favorites include Paris (easy train ride), Amsterdam, Munich, Salzburg, Heidelberg, London, Edinburgh, Prague and many more. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or for some travel tips.
One of the first trips we took together was going to the Oktoberfest. This year the "Wiesn" takes place from September 20th until October 5th. It really is a once in a lifetime experience while you're here. If you have any questions about it or need some advice, please let us know. We're happy to help.
Known for its mix of old-world charm and modern flair, Frankfurt offers something for everyone. Wander through picturesque cobblestone streets, enjoy a glass of local apple wine, or take in the skyline along the River Main. Here are some things to do in Frankfurt: - Visit the Römerberg and take the 5 min walk to the river and stroll along the promenade or over the Eiserner Steg - Visit a Apfelweinkneipe (apple wine tavern) and try out some apple wine and traditional hessian cuisine (try the Frankfurt Green Sauce with a Schnitzel). We can recommend the tavern Apfelwein Solzer! - Walk through the Kleinmarkthalle (a local market) - Visit the Palmengarten - botanical gardens (Sam and I had our 2nd date here ;))
The Mosel Valley in Germany is a picturesque region renowned for its stunning scenery, rolling vineyards, and charming wine villages. It's a place where the Moselle River carves a winding path through the landscape, creating steep hillsides that are ideal for growing Riesling grapes. The valley boasts a rich history, with Roman influences, medieval castles, and vibrant towns along the riverbanks. Pretty towns to explore are Cochem, Bernkastel-Kus or Traben Trabach. If you are interested in wine, we can recommend a wine tasting at Eduard Kroth. It's a family owned winery with a great selection of local and affordable wines. They speak English and also ship to the US: https://www.weingut-kroth.de/english-version/
The Felsenmeer (or sea of rocks) is a sight that is very close to the location and might be a fun thing to do, if you want to bridge over some spare time. It's great with kids as you can climb up and down the rocks, but also if you want to move your body a little.
Bensheim is very close to the venue and a cute town for a little stroll or to get some coffee and cake in the afternoon. There are also some nice areas to walk close by like the Kirchberghäusschen or the Fürstenlager.
