Another gift option would be to support a charity close to our hearts, here are two charities that we believe to be doing essential and meaningful work; U Care and Ocracats. “U Care Inc.” in Clinton NC serves women and children in Sampson County who are victims of domestic violence. “We are a non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault victims. U Care provides confidential, cost free services and resources to all persons. These include but are not limited to a 24-hour crisis line, shelter, counseling and client advocacy.” Ocracats is a “non-profit managed by community volunteers, formed in the early 1990s to control and care for the island’s growing community cat population. We feed the community colonies, offer medical intervention when possible for those injured or ill, and foster and find adoptive homes for kittens”.
