Question

What is the “Money Dance”? (Filipino Wedding Tradition 💛)

Answer

The money dance is a beloved Filipino tradition where guests are invited to share a short, joyful dance with the couple and offer a small gift of money as a symbol of love, support, and good wishes. For our vow renewal, this tradition takes on an even more meaningful tone. Instead of celebrating the beginning of a marriage, we are celebrating the continuation of a life we’ve already built together—years of love, growth, family, and shared memories. The money dance becomes a way for our loved ones to honor that journey and continue “investing” in the next chapter of our marriage. Guests are welcome to briefly join us on the dance floor, share a moment of laughter or a hug, and pin or hand a small bill or envelope. It’s lighthearted, optional, and meant to feel fun, not formal. Most importantly, this tradition is about community and gratitude—being surrounded by the people who have supported our marriage over the years and celebrating how far we’ve come, together 💕
