How We Met

Boogie Time 12.3.16

Lily was a new hire at the company Steve worked at when the annual Christmas party was coming around the corner. Lily was unsure if she would attend, while Steve was investigating if she would come since he was too shy to ask. Lily decided to show up last minute and when Steve saw her walk in the room he was ecstatic! When the music started, Lily noticed Steve sitting comfortably at his table and she remembered he was telling everyone at work that he was planning to "boogie all night long". She walked up to him and asked him to dance. Steve replied; "Who ME?! Okay.." Lily assumed Steve knew how to dance, but she soon found out he did not. Regardless, they danced until the end of the night before parting ways. In April Lily accepted to go on a date with Steve. On May 4, 2017 they decided to make it official, after Lily asked Steve to ask her to be his girlfriend.

The Proposal

Leap Day 2.29.20

Steve planned a Disney trip to celebrate Lily's birthday. Steve asked Lily which of the 2 parks in Anaheim she wanted to attend first. Lily picked California Adventure, but Steve told her; "Nope, were going to Disneyland first". Lily was annoyed because he made her pick for nothing. She was told there was a surprise activity they needed to attend at 5pm at that park. Steve took Lily to her favorite area in the New Orleans Square. There they had an appointment with a Cartoon Artist. Lily was excited for her first cartoon drawing. While they chatted with the artist, people passing by were starring at the drawing and at Us. Lily thought 'man, this guy is either really good or he's drawing us really funny looking'. When he was finally done, he said "Okay ladies first, come up and check it out". Lily jumped to go see how 'funny' Steve's ears might look. Instead it was a Star Wars themed drawing of Steve on one knee with a quote bubble saying "Will you marry me?" Lily read it twice before realizing what was happening and Steve on one knee next to her. She nodded her head yes in tears. The artist gave Lily a pen and she wrote her answer on the drawing. A kind stranger recorded the whole thing to give to them.
