We met sophomore year at the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) through a Jewish organization on campus. After learning we were next door neighbors (and that we even shared a wall!), we attended campus events together and enjoyed a semester of friendship before we started dating in the spring. Our first date was to a sushi restaurant and fast forward, we celebrated our engagement with a sushi dinner! We have been so lucky to enjoy so much life together. During college, we shared many fun experiences from our first Taylor Swift concert (still waiting for the second), sorority and frat formals, beach trips, basketball games, our 21st birthdays, and of course, lots of study dates. In summer of 2019, Seth moved to Atlanta for an internship, beginning our first bout of long distance. After a long 3 months and lots of video dates, we reunited for our senior year, cut short by a relatively obscure virus. After graduation, we started post-grad jobs, found an apartment and moved in together, and filled our first home with love and facebook marketplace furniture. In 2022, Seth moved to Raleigh to begin his PhD at NC State (Go Pack!). He soon purchased an engagement ring and hid it in a lunchbox for 11 months. Simultaneously, Carly moved to DC and got to experience living in a big city. With monthly visits between DC and Raleigh, we had so much fun showing each other our new cities, but were ready to close the distance. In summer 2023, Carly moved down to Raleigh, excited for a change but saying a sad farewell to her DC friends. Seth proposed in October 2023 at a picnic at the North Carolina Museum of Art sculpture garden, with friends and family hiding nearby! Together we’ve built a loving community of friends, explored our new city, planned a wedding, and put down roots in our townhome. We are so excited to celebrate our marriage with our close family and friends soon!!
