We met in May of 2015 while we were both working at a helicopter tourism company in Juneau, Alaska. This company had a strict no dating policy, which we broke within two months of working there. We spent evenings taking walks through the Alaskan woods, and becoming best friends. The next two years brought us challenges, long distance, and too many airport goodbyes. Finally, with some job advancements, we made the move to the Midwest in 2017, for Cameron's work. After 18 months, and the worst winter of our lives, we got into the base in Arizona, and the desert life began. Arizona brought us closer to some family, new friends, and very new career paths. Cameron flies Medevac, instead of tourism. Carly works in cardiology, while pursuing nursing school. Now, we have a wedding on the horizon, and talks of a golden retriever... at least according to Carly.
Carly’s family made the drive from their hometown of Richfield, PA to visit us for a few days. After seeing the sights of Phoenix we decided to take a day trip to Prescott, AZ. Before reaching the town of Prescott, we stopped at Watson Lake. We made our way down the rocks, to get closer to the water. As Carly was overlooking the lake, she turned around and I was down on one knee, and asked her to marry me! Her exact words were: "Put it on my finger!!!" I took that as a yes. After the proposal, a group of girls were taking photos right next to us. They happened to be on a bachelorette getaway, and were happy to be a part of the engagement moment. They put on music, and took photos for us. It was such a memorable day, and we are so happy that her family got to be there for it.
