The Wedding Website of Carly Rae Schroeder and Troy James Cox
Sayulita is a peaceful surf village, twenty-five miles north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is located in the adjacent Mexican state of Nayarit, providing an experience distinct from that of a resort town. Sayulita is filled with gorgeous beaches, lush jungles, breathtaking sunsets, and a taste of small town Mexico in a safe environment. The town is only 3 miles end to end so everything you need is within walking (or golf carting) distance. One of the best parts about this town is that it offers something for everyone. If you prefer a slower pace and a relaxing vacation surrounded by culture, delicious food and margaritas on the beach then this town is for you! But if you prefer to be adventurous and spend your days surfing or fishing and your evenings dancing the night away, than you will also find what you are looking for.

Flight

How to get there?

Puerto Vallarta (PVR) is the closest airport to Sayulita. When arriving in the lobby of the airport you will find car rental booths, adventure tours, and vacation package vendors. There are also ATMs for cash and money exchange booths. If you did not arrive with Mexican Pesos, this is a good time to exchange money.

Travel Note

PVR Airport to Sayulita

1)Bus: When exiting the airport turn left & cross over the highway via the pedestrian bridge & you will see the bus. The bus from PVR to Sayulita costs $50 pesos ($2.50) and can take 1-2 hours, depending on traffic. 2)Taxi: There are 2 ways to book a taxi. a.Before you exit the airport, but this can be more costly (from $2000 pesos/$100 USD and up). b.Exit the airport, cross the highway and flag a taxi down (price should be around $700 -$1000 pesos…but this may depend on your Spanish skills, or lack thereof!) 3)Shuttle Service: Regardless if you are coming solo or traveling with a larger group, shuttles are very reliable. A few options are Jose Ramos Transportation (link below) and Sayulita Suburban Transportation. They can be arranged ahead of arrival through Trip Advisor and/or email. 4)Private driver: Many accommodations in Sayulita assist with private driver services in addition to your stay. Definitely ask your host for their recommendations!

Where to Stay?

Depending where you wish to lay your head at night, you could be tucked away in the jungle, beach side, or close to the city center. Regardless of your preference there are great accommodations options for boutique hotels, villas, and houses alike. We are staying with our families at Villa del Oso, location linked below. This is where the ceremony and reception take place. The villa is located on the north side of the city (15 minute walk to Sayulita beach/plaza), which tends to be relatively flat and more quiet. As you continue to scroll through this page you will find a handful of accommodation suggestions. Our favorite experience has always been grouping up to rent a villa or an Airbnb with friends and family. But hotels offer an additional layer of amenities that some find too good to pass up.

How do I get around Sayulita?

Sayulita is a small enough that most visitors rent a golf cart for the length of their stay. Although small, the town is very hilly. So, unless you are looking for the extra steps, we strongly recommend renting a golf cart. There are a handful of golf cart companies around town or you can arrange ahead of time. The link will take you to a couple of options through Sayulita Life website. A couple others are Town Around Golf Cart Rentals and Riviera Golf Carts, both of which we have had positive experiences with!
