Question

How to pay for things in Sayulita?

Answer

Cash is king in Sayulita...or I should say MXN pesos are king. Although there are some places where a card is accepted (like pharmacies and convenience stores), the majority of establishments request payment in pesos. We recommend coming with pesos and there are 4 options to choose from: (1) Place a foreign currency order with our bank ahead of travel (easiest in my opinion) (2) Exchange USD to MXN at the airport (things to keep in mind...this may keep you at the airport longer) (3) Pull out MXN at Intercam Bank. Sayulita's only bank is located on the main road as you enter town on the right, across from the Police station. The hours are Mon - Fri 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. (4) Pull out MXN pesos at an ATM in Sayulita (things to keep in mind... ATMs run out of MXN, Sayulita is a small town) $1 USD = $20 MXN

Question

Where can I get covid tested?

Answer

All air travelers aged two and older, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, are required to show documentation of a negative viral test result taken within one day of the flight’s departure to the United States before boarding. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. There are plenty of testing options in Sayulita. Question

Is Sayulita safe?

Answer

Yes, Sayulita is safe and friendly. Tourism drives the local economy, so residents are very welcoming and English is commonly understood. The town has a few streets that look intimidating at night, but most people roaming the streets at that hour are fellow tourists getting their party on. Still, common sense and basic safety measures should be practiced when travelling domestic or internationally.

Question

How do I get around Sayulita?

Answer

Sayulita is a small enough that most locals and visitors go on foot or rent a golf cart for the length of their stay. There are a handful of golf cart companies around town or you can arrange ahead of time. A couple are Town Around Golf Cart Rentals and Riviera Golf Carts, both of which we have had positive experiences with! You can also google or use Sayulita Life website to search for additional companies.
