We both started our careers at Oracle in the summer of 2020 - fully remote. Carly was working from St. Louis, MO, while Billy was in Charleston, SC. Our only interaction was a weekly Zoom call with about 100 other people, but Billy couldn’t help noticing that beautiful face calling in from St. Louis. Fast forward to September 2021: we both had independently moved to South Boston, yet still didn’t really know each other beyond Zoom. One day, Billy asked Carly if she wanted to go for a walk on the beach during their lunch break. That one walk quickly turned into daily lunch walks. Not long after, they discovered a shared love for skiing. Between long car rides to Billy’s house in Vermont and countless days on the mountain, it didn't take long for things to snowball. Billy was drawn to Carly’s electric energy and unforgettable smile, while Carly was drawn to Billy’s humor, athleticism, and enthusiasm for turning every weekend into an epic adventure. From that point on, weekend drives to Vermont grew into road trips across New England - from Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard to Maine, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire - along with trips out west to ski “real mountains” and surf “real waves.” Wherever we went, the best moments were always the ones we shared. In January 2025, we traded Boston for New York City. Since then, we've eaten our way through the city and walked more blocks than is medically recommended. On September 19, 2025, during a weekend in Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Billy surprised Carly with a sunset proposal along the beach. What made the moment even more special was that both of our families helped plan the surprise and spent the weekend celebrating together - turning an unforgettable evening into an unforgettable few days. These days, our fast-paced strolls have been replaced with seating charts, vendor calls, and the realization that planning a wedding might be the most extreme sport yet. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people who have shaped our lives, supported our story, and made every step along the way more meaningful.
