When friends and family come to visit, Renee and Adam always love taking them to Birkdale Village! It’s full of great shops, restaurants, and even a movie theater. Renee loves to browse Sephora, Anthropologie, and Lululemon, while Adam’s usually found grabbing a bite at North Italia or Bartaco.
Downtown Davidson
Nestled in a charming historic district, Downtown Davidson is a pedestrian-friendly delight—think flower-lined sidewalks, brick storefronts, and a lively, hometown feel. Whether you're browsing the shelves at the beloved indie shop Main Street Books, grabbing a bite at Kindred, or strolling through the Davidson College campus (Adam loves that Steph Curry went to school here!), there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Lake Norman
Lake Norman is the crown jewel of the area—perfect for relaxing, exploring, and soaking up scenic views. Whether you're renting a boat for the day, grabbing lakeside drinks at Hello, Sailor, or catching a sunset stroll at Jetton Park, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the water. It’s one of our favorite spots to unwind and feel like we’re on vacation, even when we’re close to home. A few of our favorite ways to enjoy the lake: 🛥️ Rent a boat or pontoon for the day from Lake Effects or Freedom Boat Club 🧘♀️ Try paddleboarding or kayaking—Jetton Park and Ramsey Creek Park both have great launch spots 🍹 Grab drinks and a bite at Hello, Sailor (go for the hushpuppies and lake views) 🌅 Catch golden hour at Jetton Park, especially pretty for photos

Explore Adam and Renee's neighborhood and grab a bite to eat at Harvey's. This casual bar and grill has a cozy, laid-back vibe and is perfect for grabbing a bite. Whether you're there for dinner on the patio or just a quick drink, Harvey’s is a go-to local hangout that gives you a real taste of the area’s charm.
