But was told "Don't even try, Carley is too good for you", when he asked if he should reach out. Days had passed and Ryan found himself in a train station waiting for his departure. After some liquid courage, he thought to himself, "What's the worst that could happen?" and decided to shoot his shot.. He immediately turned off his phone to save himself from embarrassment, but was pleasantly surprised when he received a response... From there, everything changed. Cordial messages led to late night conversations, which led to phone calls and later a first date.... on FaceTime. The reason? The two lived 400 miles away from each other. Ryan jumped at the chance to visit Carley in Virginia Beach, where their mutual love for margaritas fueled the months to follow. Ryan and Carley's weekend visits led to a lot of late nights in New York City, morning coffee's on Chics Beach, and a New Year's Eve trip to Sedona, Arizona. But there was one thing left for Ryan to do, and that was too meet the biggest joy of Carley's life, her son, Bodhi. But to no avail, Ryan quickly became Bodhi's new biggest play toy and the rest is history. When Ryan found himself flying to Virginia even more frequently to visit Carley and now Bodhi, he knew that was where he belonged.
