FAQ

Have questions about what to wear, available parking, the wedding itinerary, dietary restrictions or accommodations–we got you covered. If you don’t see a question answered on our wedding website, please reach out to Carleigh at 425-503-6650.
Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time to ensure you have enough time to park, walk to the venue and find a seat. We ask for all guests to be seated in the ceremony space by 3:45 PM for a prompt start at 4:00 PM. Late guests will not be permitted into the ceremony area, so please be on time to avoid missing the moment.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is “elevated cocktail” - think polished and put together with a little extra flare. A suit or a dress shirt with a tie is suggested. Chic midi (mid-calf), knee-length and tea-length dresses or dressy separates are welcome. When you enter the Berkeley City Club and see the wonderfully preserved architecture from 1930, you’ll understand why we think you should step up your dress game. When it comes to color, the choice is entirely yours (with the exception of wearing white).

Question

Will transportation be provided to and from the venue?

Answer

We will not be providing transportation to and from the venue as we will have a room block available at the venue. Additionally, there are many parking garage options and other hotels within close walking distance.

Question

Is parking available?

Answer

For guests within driving distance of the venue, there are parking garages available nearby. Please visit our Location & Stay page for the closest available parking garages. For guests staying at the hotel, the parking lot is available on a first come, first-served basis for an additional fee per vehicle, per night. Please note this parking lot is only available for hotel guests. The venue is also accessible from public transportation with a 12 minute walk to the Downtown Berkeley BART Station (2160 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704).

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception. If you're joining the after-party, please note that drinks will be available for individual purchase.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We're so excited to celebrate this special day surrounded by our closest friends and family. As we're keeping it intimate, only those formally invited on your wedding invitation can be accommodated. If you have a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and when you RSVP.

Question

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

For our special day, we've decided to keep our wedding adults-only (21+), so everyone can fully relax and enjoy the evening with us. We hope you'll take this as a chance for a special date night!

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding will be primarily indoors on the second floor of the Berkeley City Club. Please note that the ceremony space on the second floor is on the venue’s outdoor covered Terrace. While the Terrace is covered, it has screens on the side that will be rolled up (weather permitting), allowing for a fresh breeze.

Question

Do you have a room block at one or more hotels?

Answer

We will be reserving a room block at the Berkeley City Club. More details to come.

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions?

Answer

We plan on having an entree choice that's vegetarian to accommodate guests with various dietary restrictions. Our cocktail hour appetizers will also all be clearly marked if they are allergy friendly. If you have additional restrictions, please let us know in the designated section of your RSVP. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!

Question

I’m traveling from out of state. What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Oakland International Airport is the closest airport (25 minutes away); however, the venue is accessible - just a longer drive - from the San Francisco International Airport and San Jose International Airport.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The venue is ADA friendly. Elevators are available to go to the second floor where our festivities will take place. Additionally, there is a ramp on the side of the building to enter if you are unable to use the front stairs.
