In October 2019, we set off on a weekend getaway across Texas to Big Bend National Park. This trip was meant to celebrate Carl's birthday, but secretly he had other plans. On the first day, we hiked 5 miles to the top of Emory Peak, the summit was a rocky and windy outcrop. After we took in the view from the peak of exposed rock, Carl pulled out a beautiful engagement ring and got down on one knee. Becca's eyes lit up with joy and emotion, we embraced and tried on the ring (so sparkly in the sunlight). The rest of the day felt like a dream and was one of the happiest of our lives. We are truly blessed to have found each other!
