Carla was engraving for Josh Cellars when Josh ran into a Total Wine to pick up a wine key. Josh noticed there was an event for one of his brands and introduced himself to Carla. It seemed hard to believe that his name was also Josh. Five months later he contacted Carla to engrave some bottles for clients and that is when the dialogue began. Thank you Joseph Carr!

I (Josh) thought it would be great to surprise Carla on a trip to some special spots for a date night on the anniversary of our 1st date (3/18). So we start at Papa's Raw Bar, which happens to be the 1st place we went to dinner when I lived in Pompano Beach. After some sushi and wine there I took her to Death or Glory, one of our favorite cocktail bars. There we saw some great friends, had a shot of Malort and a cocktail before heading to the next place. Our next stop was the 1st place Carla saw me working in action. At the time it was called Voltaire but is now Lost Weekend and has an arcade bar upstairs. After another cocktail there to get my nerves settled we started to walk to 123 Datura. As we pass her old office, where we had shared some special memories, I stopped her and got down on one knee, fumbled in my pocket and pulled out a ring. Just as I'm about to ask her to make me the happiest man in the world for the rest of my life a street violist starts to play music. She responds by saying "Oh my gosh" so I ask her "Is that a yes" to which she replies " Of course"! As this is going on a few people walking down Clematis notice what's happening, start recording and saying "I can't believe I'm seeing this" and "Look how sweet they look together". We wipe the tears and continue walking down Clematis deciding to stop at Camelot to tell our friend Cassandra what just happened. She insisted we pop open some bubbles to celebrate. A few champagne glasses and "Congratulations" from observers later and we finish our trek to 123 Datura. Reed, the manager of 123 and our friend can't believe it when we tell him, gives us both a big hug and starts to pour us shots. We have an old fashioned as well and we, or I, decide we need to we need to go celebrate with some friends in Fort Lauderdale. I call said friends, Chris and Noel, on the way down. As we arrive at Glitch Noel and Chris are waiting and start spraying us with champagne. The night continues in a haze popping around Fort Lauderdale only to Uber home around 3am. When we wake up the next morning both of us didn't feel great from all the alcohol consumed the night before but we both didn't care. We knew we were going to be together the rest of our lives and couldn't wait for the journey to continue. We spent most that day in bed just looking into each others eyes and smiling. It was pure joy on both of our faces!
