Flight
Unfortunately, there are no direct flights to Florence from Dallas just yet. For the best price point, you should consider buying an international flight with a stop in one of the major European cities such as Milan, Madrid, Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich, London, etc. Might as well explore another city on your adventure :)
Flight
If you are flying directly to Rome, the best way to reach Florence is by train. You can book your train tickets on-line by clicking "View" below. Please be sure to select the route from "FIUMICINO AIRPORT" to "FIRENZE SANTA MARIA NOVELLA". We recommend everyone book the "Leonardo Freccia Rossa Train" (fast train). NOTE: the train will stop in Roma Termini where you will have to CHANGE trains.

We have provided some options below. However, please do not feel limited by these options - we recommend you stay anywhere in Florence that feels like the most convenient and best option for you! For reference, we will be staying at an Airbnb. Our address is: Via dell'Ariento, 18.

Travel Note
Please note that UBER or LYFT don't exist in Florence!! They are banned. You can take a taxi from the train station or airport. The average cost is 30-50 Euros. Taxis accept credit cards, but cash is preferred. We would recommend having some euros available for the taxi services. Phone number: +39 055 4390 or + 39 055 4242
Rental Car
Most of the rental car companies are located at the airport in Florence. We don't recommend renting a car while you are in Florence - unless you want to explore other cities - as street parking is a nightmare due to space and limited time zones for parking. Additionally, driving in the city center of Florence is very difficult and not advised, because there are always a large number of pedestrians. Private Parking garages are available throughout the city - the average price is $30 euros per day.
Travel Note
In late September the weather in Florence can be warm! Light, airy clothing is always a good choice, and it is also a good idea to pack a hat or sunglasses to protect against the sun. Secondly, because Florence is a old European city with a lot of history and culture, there is a general dress code across the city - for example, you'll want to avoid short-shorts and tank tops when you want to visit a Cathedral or any Museum. Finally and most importantly, comfortable shoes are an absolute must!!! There will likely be a lot of walking while you are exploring Florence.
