Do I have to stay at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay to attend?

Answer

No. We recommend staying there because it truly is the most beautiful spot on the island and the amenities are unreal. This property has everything you need and want to have a truely wonderful experience on the Kauai island. The discounted rate (approximately 50% off) is offered Monday, August 5th through Monday, August 12th. Those that wish to not stay at the hotel, there are nearby hotels and AIRBNB/VRBO that are close by.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Since we are both golfers, we couldn't put on an event without a golf outing. Makai Golf Course (walking distance from the hotel) has provided us with a discounted rate to enjoy this beautiful golf course along the ocean. All skill levels welcome!

When do I RSVP By?

Please RSVP by June 5th by using the QR code on your invitation or by clicking the RSVP tab in the menu above. We will need a response by this date to ensure a proper headcount for the catering. If you don't see the RSVP tab, that means we haven't sent out invitations yet.

Are kids welcome?

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception as adults-only event with the exception of immediate family. Invitations will be specific and will include the names of the children who are invited. However, we encourage you to use this evening as a "night out" for yourself!

Are pets welcome?

Answer

If you are staying at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, they do welcome pets. Bring them to enjoy the Hawaiian sunshine, but we kindly ask that you leave your furry loved ones at home for the wedding, so you can enjoy a night out!

Due to limited space, we are only able to accomodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitations. Your invitation will specify how many seats have been saved in your honor. Thank you for understanding!

Whatever shoes you feel comfortable in. Please keep in mind that the property has grass, rock, and dirt terrain.

We will have a consumption bar for our big day. The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you so get ready to celebrate!

Are the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be held on-site at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay. The ceremony will be held out on the lawn along with the cocktail hour (weather permitting), and the reception will be in an indoor location within the hotel.

How do we get there?

Answer

If you are staying at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, you are a few steps from the location making transportation not even a question. However, if you are staying off property, you can drive to the hotel (free valet service). Uber and Lyft are hard to come by so if you do decide to do rideshare, please make sure to schedule it prior to the wedding.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM. Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to the ceremony to park and find your seat.

Can we take photos?

Answer

We ask that you do not get your cameras/phones in the way during the ceremony. However, PLEASE take as many photos & videos you would like after the ceremony is complete. Keep an eye out for the QR codes posted at the reception so you can share ALL your photos & videos with us. We do ask if you post to social media, use the hashtag #CareyMeAway2024 to keep the memories together.
