If you don't have a passport yet, start the process now as it can take up to 3-4 months to receive your passport. If you already have a passport be sure to make sure it is valid through October 2025 as some countries require your passport to be valid for 6 months post travel.
Short answer is yes. Cartagena is a UNESCO World Heritage site with incredible preservation of Spanish Colonial architecture. Over 600,000 tourists visit the city each year. Not only is Daniel's family from Colombia but Daniel has been visiting his whole life. Emily and Daniel have visited Cartagena 3 times, each time better than the last !
There are many wonderful options to stay, we recommend staying in the walled city of Cartagena. We have a list of recommended hotels on the travel page but we also encourage you to look into an AirBnB as this will probably be the most cost effective option.
We have compiled a list of our favorite place we ate while visintg Cartagena, just head on over to the "travel" tab. Also feel free to reach out to Emily or Daniel with questions concerns.
We recommend using uber for an easy 10-15 minute commute from the airport to the walled city.
We recommend talking to your cellular provider prior to leaving the US to establish how much it will cost for international plan and what the best option is for you. While in Colombia we recommend "Claro" as the cellular service option, simply change over in the cellular settings on your phone.
No! Luckily all the electrical outlets in Colombia are compatible with US plugs. No need to bring converters for your electronic chargers or hair tools.
We will continue to update this list as needed, but please feel free to reach out to Daniel and Emily for any additional questions or concerns you might have ! We recommend contacting us about anything wedding through our designated email so we don't miss and questions ! The email is: cardamoneglavinoswedding@gmail.com
