A regular night out with family and friends at a bar turned into the most amazing journey that neither of them expected. Kwame approached Cara to ask if someone was sitting in the empty chair beside her. He told her how beautiful she was and the conversation grew from there. As this was the first time that she left her daughter, she was not interested in a single thing that he had to say. She gave him a fake name, nationality, and almost gave him a fake number. She had no intentions on hearing from him the next day or any time in the future. The next day, he asked her what she was doing and she replied that she was taking care of her 3 week old daughter. Fully expecting him to ghost her after this, he kept the conversation going with jokes and his award winning personality. They realized over the next few months just how naturally intentional they had been with each other, and knew that they both were there to stay. Next was the hard part...Meeting the family. Although Cara was very hesitant about him meeting her daughter, she knew from their first interaction that he would be the perfect addition to their little family as he effortlessly bonded with her. His genuine personality and whit remained the same with meeting the rest of my family as well. The same went for his family as she immediately gravitated to his siblings and mother from day one. Seeing him care for and support his family showed Cara just how much of an amazing family man that he was. One of their favorite things to do is to attend parties and dance together, especially with their families. At one of Cara's famous "cousins" get togethers, he took her outside and asked her to officially be his girlfriend. In that moment, fireworks were going off overhead as it was nearing midnight on July 3rd. It was the first of many romantic and special moments that they have experienced together. From there, their next journey began.

As they were expecting their child in 2019, they decided that they wanted to do a gender reveal with some of their immediate family members. One of Cara's best friend, Kierra, asked if she could throw the party for them. They were thankful and replied yes. She coordinated a beautiful super hero themed reveal from Kwame and Cara's favorite movie genre. In excitement, Cara coordinated her, Kwame, and Caylee's outfits to all white, not knowing the real symbolism behind it. As the party started, they were all very excited to be with one another. Everyone talked and laughed while they enjoyed some amazing food. The excitement intensified as it was time for the reveal. Kwame and Cara stood at the front of the room and were presented with a huge box. Cara was handed the scissors and asked if she was ready. When she cut open the box, a large black and white balloon floated up. She was very confused to not see either pink or blue, until she read what was written on it. It read "Cara Will You Marry Me?". With so much happiness and shock, she immediately started to cry as Kwame knelt down on one knee and their love song "All My Life" by K-Ci and JoJo played in the background. Everyone was crying and cheering with excitement. When she opened her eyes, all she saw was his bright smile looking up at her. He took her wrong hand (the right) and she quickly switched it around for him. He started to place the ring on her finger until someone said, "what do you have to say?". He exclaimed "Will You Marry Me" and she through tears replied "yes". After their embrace and a quick dance, they were presented with a picture frame. They revealed the picture of Caylee wearing a shirt that read "Big sister to a super HEro", and celebrated the soon to be birth of their son.

Before meeting each other, a family of 2 was already created with Caylee and Cara. From day one, Kwame has always provided, taught, cared for, and loved Caylee as if she were his own. After 3 years, they made the decision to grow their family even more. They were blessed to welcome their son Kwame Jr. into the world in April of 2019. He gets his name honestly as he is the mini version of Kwame. The pandemic put a huge strain on many families, but it allowed them to grow closer and realize just how important family really is. From love and quarantine, they were blessed to welcome their daughter Kehlani in March of 2021. She has been the last piece to their puzzle that they didn't know that they needed. They are thankful and blessed to have each other, and are excited for all the memories that we will make in the future.
