FAQs

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the venue! We are also providing bus shuttle service to and from the hotels in Durham.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please plan to RSVP by August 1st, 2024!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please visit the travel page of this website for some recommendations.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The wedding is black tie, which means it will be a more formal occasion. Men should be in tuxedos or black suits with a black tie. Women should plan to wear formal dresses and floor-length gowns. The welcome drinks are cocktail attire.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

If you plan to drive, please arrive by 4:45 pm as we will start the ceremony promptly at 5 pm. The hotel bus shuttles will drop you off at Carolina Grove by 4:30 pm.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please write it on on the RSVP card when you pick out your entree selection. We'll make sure that your needs are accommodated.

Question

Are kids allowed to attend?

Answer

We love your children and toddlers so much (seriously...so much!). However, we are hoping to have a formal, adults only wedding, which means that if you are traveling in from out of town and want to enjoy Durham with your family, we ask that you arrange for childcare on Saturday night. We hope that parents take this opportunity for a Saturday night out or weekend away!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We are hosting welcome drinks at the Durham Hotel on Friday, September 6th at 8:30 pm for all of our guests. There will also be an informal brunch at Cara's parent's home on Sunday, September 8th.
