How Cara and Corey Met

#TheShip

Cara and Corey formally met at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX on a 1st Sunday in July. It was 2019. Corey was serving communion and had already given a communion cup to Cara. However, Corey must have forgotten…;)…so he walked over to Cara and asked, “Do you want communion?”. Well Cara informed Corey that she had gotten a communion cup from him earlier. So since they were FB friends, Cara mentioned to him that she attended Southern University as well. Cara and Corey began conversing and realized they both had deep family roots in Union Parish (Louisiana). Corey’s maternal and paternal family was from Bernice, LA and Cara’s maternal family was from Marion, LA. After the conversation, Corey went back to his post to serve communion. When Corey left church he decided to be a Private Investigator. To Corey’s surprise, there were only nice things said about Cara.

Corey Gets the Digits

#SOS

On July 21, 2019, Cara attended a “Summerdress Soiree” hosted by the Sisters of the Ship (SOS) Women’s Ministry. Cara had just joined Greater Friendship on June 2, 2019, so this was a great outing for her to meet more people who attended the church. When Cara arrived to the soiree, the first person she saw was Corey, who said he was volunteering to setup the chairs (“What a coincidence?”). Cara and Corey were having a casual conversation. Corey then asked Cara could he call her. Cara said he could and they exchanged phone numbers. Corey called Cara the next day and they began a Beautiful Friendship due to them having so many things in common and Cara was not looking for anything serious at that moment.

Officially Dating

#FriendshipToCourting

Cara and Corey began a friendship that ultimately lead to them officially dating. After several months of phone conversations, Cara and Corey realized that there was a strong chemistry between the two of them. On February 1, 2020, Cara and Corey became exclusive. Cara and Corey were inseparable and really got to know each other due to the world being shutdown because of the COVID-19 Pandemic a little over a month later.

How Did Corey Propose

#TheProposal

June 13, 2021 was just an ordinary day for Cara. However, it was a nervous but exciting day for Corey. The day began with Cara and Corey having Brunch with one of Corey’s amazing cousins and Corey’s Father. Cara was just meeting Corey’s cousin, who was visiting from Phoenix, for the first time. After brunch, Corey asked Cara what was she going to wear later that day. Cara was confused but still didn’t think much about it because Corey was taking her on a date, which is something they hadn’t done in awhile due to the pandemic. Corey took Cara to NorthPark Mall and Cara found her a dress and some shoes. Later that evening, Cara and Corey had dinner and then went to Las Colinas for a Gondola Ride. Cara was clueless and was enjoying the boat ride. About halfway through the ride, the Gondola hands Cara and Corey a dirty bottle. Cara would not open it. Therefore, Corey had to open the bottle. Corey gave the note that was in the bottle to Cara. Cara opened the note, which was rolled up with a red ribbon wrapped around it. As Cara was reading the note (still clueless), Corey got on one knee and proposed. Cara was so shocked, surpised, and laughing and crying all at the same time. Corey definitely outdid himself with this proposal and Cara said “Yes!” To see the proposal in action, copy and paste the link below into your browser! https://youtu.be/uZuYxs2QGB0
