Our love story began in the fall of 2011. I (Cara) was a college freshman at the University of Richmond and Bennie was a sophomore orientation advisor (well played, right?). Months of flirtatious banter was exchanged across campus, amounting to an unforgettable first date at The Cheesecake Factory. Bennie paid, and he couldn't even use "dining dollars"! 8 years worth of long distance stints (PA to FL, Italy to Richmond, NYC to Philly - you name it), back-to-back birthdays (March 26th and 27th) and several other fun memories later, Bennie popped the question at the Southeast Lighthouse on Block Island. Little did I know, that wasn't the only surprise! In epic fashion, we pulled in on the ferry and were greeted by our dearest friends and family cheering from the deck of Bennie's Heaven on Earth, Champlin's Seafood. Bennie would argue the mudslides and fried seafood are the best part of Champlin's, but I'd say it's the memory of the best day of my life that I now get to relive every time I walk in the door. 8 years of dating wasn't long enough for our standards, so 10 years later we'll be tying the knot! We are so excited and hopeful that we'll be able to celebrate the start of our forever with you as planned. Thank you for your love and support, and for making it here!
