Written by Tyler The day was February 21, 2015 and it was the annual “Tour de Franzia” (yes, the boxed wine) at UW-L. I was at my buddy’s house getting ready for the party, and I still didn’t know who was on our team of 6. As we were staged at my friend’s house in our togas getting ready for the party, he told me about the two girls that were on our team, one of the girls being Claudia. After hearing about her and seeing a few pictures, it's easy to say, I was interested. We introduced ourselves, and had a great time getting to know one another and crushing the tour (we came in last place). As the night came to an end, Claudia confidently told me that she was going to end up with me someday. I just laughed, (because we both knew it was the wine talking and not her) and headed our separate ways. We continued to stay friends and hang out the next couple months, and before I knew it, she was my girlfriend. Turns out, she was right all along. I'm looking forward to our big day, and what our future holds together.
Written by Claudia Our wild, busy, yet unforgettable weekend all began with a Friday morning plane ride from Alabama up to Wisconsin. We were coming home to see our all-time favorite singer, Luke Combs, perform in our all-time favorite city, La Crosse. We saw our boy Luke, met up with friends we haven’t seen in months, and had an incredible night! I didn’t think our weekend could get any better, but the next day I was proven wrong. Since we haven’t been home in a while, Tyler and I thought it’d be a great idea to go out to eat Saturday night with our families. As we walked towards the doors of the restaurant that we’ve been to a handful of times, Tyler said to me “Let’s go look at the river quick.” I remember thinking to myself "I don't want to see the river, I want to go inside because it's freezing out here!" Thankfully I listened to him and his crazy idea, because as we got closer to the water, I saw in the corner of my eye a big group of people standing out on the restaurant’s patio. I even said to Tyler “Aw look! I wish we were…” and that was all I could say, because at that moment, I froze. I first saw my best friend standing on the side, I then saw Tyler’s brother in the back corner, and the last person I saw was my dad, standing there with the biggest smile. At that moment, Tyler grabbed my hand, got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I was shaking, crying, laughing-basically all the emotions-because this was something I dreamt about since we began dating, and I couldn’t believe it was actually happening! It was SO thoughtful that he invited our families and closest friends to join and share this special moment with us. We spent the rest of the night dancing, celebrating, and feeling so overwhelmed with joy and happiness. It was a weekend I will never forget. Safe to say, this really is "what memories are made of" ♡ -Luke Combs
