Dear Family and Friends, first, we want to thank all of you for your continued love and support as we navigate through this difficult and complicated time. That being said, we wanted to update you all on the current status of our wedding, as it is ever changing! As of now, Winterthur has a reduced guest capacity due to current health and safety protocols from the state of Delaware. In order to comply with those guidelines and ensure the health and safety of our guests, we are moving forward with our wedding at this reduced size. That being said, we are hopeful that with the increase in vaccines and reduction in cases, these guidelines will loosen as we get closer to our wedding day. It is our hope that we are able to celebrate our special day with everyone we love present with us. In the meantime, we ask for your patience and understanding as we try to navigate these unfortunate circumstances. Thank you all, we hope so very much to see you soon!
Leading up to an Eagles tailgate, Gab and Dan both caught wind that their mutual friends were looking to set them up. Never one to be told what to do, Gab decided that she would be avoiding Dan at all costs. Dan, after working up a bit of liquid courage, eventually approached Gab as the tailgate was wrapping up. Both noticed a little spark and agreed to go to Xfinity Live! to watch the game. Although the plan was to go together, Gab and Dan were separated while en route to the bar. Wanting to avoid the crowds, Dan decided to go back to his apartment instead, to make sure he would be able to watch the entire game. While he was kicking himself for letting the opportunity pass him by, Gab took matters into her own hands. She got his number, and texted Dan to give him a hard time for leaving her behind. He realized he was getting a rare second chance, and quickly asked her out on a date to make up for his foolish mistake. While on their first date, the two immediately hit it off and began to realize this would be the last First Date of their lives. In the years since, Dan and Gab have enjoyed traveling together, going to local wineries and breweries, spending time with family down the shore, and of course, watching their beloved Eagles win the Super Bowl (GO BIRDS!).
Two years later, Gab and Dan were on their way to the Eagles tailgate that had turned into an annual tradition with their friends. As they were walking down Broad Street, he reminded her that the last time they had been there together was the night they celebrated the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory with thousands of their closest friends. He asked her to recreate a picture from that night with her on his shoulders. Gab refused; worried that doing so would jinx the Eagles that day and cause them to lose. After some prodding from both Dan and some friends who were in the know, she finally agreed, but only if they all knocked on wood first. As he bent over to get her on his shoulders, he quickly turned around on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. After what seemed liked hours, Dan finally convinced Gab that he was serious, the ring was real, and he was actually proposing. Through her tears she said yes, and they made their way down to Lincoln Financial Field where both of their families, as well as their friends, were waiting for them. The rest of the day was a wonderful celebration of love, family, and friendship. Everyone was in such great spirits even an Eagles loss couldn’t get them down (as usual, Gab was right).
