Our story officially began in 2014, sparked by a casual photo and a mutual friend. Cory first saw Zee in a picture with his friend and was instantly intrigued. He worked up the courage to ask for her number, and after a little matchmaking, Zee happily agreed to chat. They instantly connected over the phone, but timing wasn't on their side. Cory was establishing his career in New Jersey, and Zee was dedicated to hers in Virginia. The distance and demanding schedules made it impossible to start the relationship we both wanted. Six years later, in August of 2020, fate decided it was time to intervene with the help of the same friend! Zee was stopping by her friend's house in D.C. when the conversation turned to Cory. Against Zee's initial reluctance (after all, it had been a year and a half!), her friend boldly launched a video call to Cory through Facebook. He answered, and when the camera flipped and he saw Zee, his immediate, genuine smile said it all. They spent the entire drive from D.C. back to Virginia talking, picking up exactly where they had left off years before. This time, nothing would stand in their way. That impromptu video call was the catalyst, and since that day, they haven't looked back.
