Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all be hosted in succession at Whitby Castle in Rye. History: Whitby Castle was built between 1852 and 1854 as a Gothic Revival “castle-style” residence for financier and art collector, William P. Chapman. It was designed by architect Alexander Jackson Davis, and incorporates stones from Whitby Abbey in England.
