We met on Match.com. I viewed his profile first, he noticed and sent a message and I responded. We had our first date a week later and as they say "the rest is history."
Nervousness filled that day because nothing was going as planned. So an improv had to be done, which was a challenge in itself. Having to surprise my Mother-in-law by letting her know I was proposing to Connie that day was a joyous occasion alone. She started crying and had to keep her composure, all the while holding on to the engagement ring in secret. With lunch/ dinner approaching its end, the proposal had to be done a little early and unfortunately, everyone that wanted to be present was unable to be there in time to witness the proposal. So, I had to improvise even more and come up with an idea on just how to "pop the question." The resolve... have a continuance of Connie's birthday and have the restaurant bring out a special dessert for her "birthday." And after dessert was served, I proposed. Unbeknownst to me, Connie could not hear anything I said other than, "will you be my life partner and wife." So, here we are today, standing united, as Husband and Wife.
