Monday, January 15, 2018 was the day Candace was introduced to thee Napoleon F. Jackson, Jr. It was a regular day for them both; Candace had no idea she'd meet her husband to be. She invited one of her friends over for dinner. Looking for a musician to play for at a Martin Luther King event, her friend FaceTimed Napoleon's mentee to see if he had spoken with Napoleon. To her surprise the mentee was actually at Napoleon's apartment. Ease dropping from the next room, Candace noticed they both referred to him as "Pastor." Eager to see who he was, Candace walked in and asked jokingly, "Who is this Bishop y'all speak of?" Unaware of who he was at the time, she didn't think much of it when they were introduced. That night Candace and Napoleon exchanged phone numbers, texting for the duration of the night. About one week later, Napoleon invited Candace to get food at IHOP. After she agreed to join him, she made him wait just to see if it was real. To her surprise, he was more patient than she thought, waiting for her the entire time. When she got there, it was about 11:00 P.M. They literally talked and laughed the all night. When they departed from IHOP it was about 4:00 A.M. Needless to say, the conversation was so engagingly refreshing, they didn't pay attention to the time. That night was the foundation of their friendship, not realizing that it was love at first sight. The two looked forward to conversing daily; Candace took pride in being present in his life and as time went on they grew closer as friends. Nine months later, they decided to become a little more exclusive. Making it official on September 22, 2018, they became a dating couple and they basked in every moment of it. Little did Candace know, six months into their relationship, he'd ask her to be his wife and now they're getting married!! The couple choose to marry on Saturday, September 21, 2019 to honor the day Napoleon asked her to be his girlfriend one year ago.
