Things To Do

Carillon Historical Park

Carillon Historical Park

1000 Carillon Boulevard, Dayton, OH 45409

A beautiful memory of what Dayton once was, and an insightful look on what it will be, Carillon Historical Park in Dayton is one of Amelia's favorite places to be. American history at its finest, with a stunning Christmas display all throughout December, this is education made interactive and fun for the whole family. Located right next to the University of Dayton campus.

The Mall at Fairfield Commons

The Mall at Fairfield Commons

2727 Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek, OH 45431

Need a mind break? Doing some last-minute Christmas shopping? Want some retail therapy *wink, wink*? Enjoy the mall where we first met! Located in Beavercreek, this shopping center first opened in 1993 and has been the source of plenty of core memories for the bride and groom, and has been the epicenter of casual fun for families in the Dayton area. And, for the littles in your party, Santa and his helpers set up shop in the month of December! Keep your eyes peeled for Santa's arrival, and don't hesitate to send us pics of those happy faces with Saint Nicholas! Amelia's Favorite Shops: Bath & Body Works, Hot Topic, Box Lunch, The Ole Farmstead, Rose & Remington Canaan's Favorite Shops: For Your Entertainment, Bunker 27, GameStop

Guitar Center

Guitar Center

2700 Miamisburg Centerville Road, Dayton, OH 45459

As a couple raised on Jesus and rock 'n' roll, it's no surprise that we'd recommend this classic music store in Dayton. Pick up some guitar picks, or fix your electric that's been sitting in your basement for the past ten years (we know, you "never got around to it"). Amelia's Favorite Sections: Acoustic Barn, Microphones, Books and Records Canaan's Favorite Sections: Electric Guitars, Amps, Microphones, Pedals and Equipment

Chuy's

Chuy's

2717 Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek, OH 45431

Who doesn't love Tex-Mex? Who's EVER said, "Tacos aren't that good"?? Nobody. That's who. Great for the whole family, this vintage-style restaurant is the perfect place to grab something spicy, savory, or sweet! This is our favorite go-to restaurant and is renowned in the area for their creamy jalapeno sauce (Amelia first thought it was ranch, just a heads-up). Whether you're local to the area, or you're one of our esteemed out-of-state guests, there is nothing more American than Elvis Presley, muscle cars, and Tex-Mex.

Blind Bob's

Blind Bob's

430 East 5th Street, Dayton, OH 45402

Look at the picture. Okay, look at it again. Recognize somebody? ;) Located in the Oregon District in Downtown Dayton, Blind Bob's is a widely recommended tavern not only for its fine craft beers, but also for its live music and delicious food. It's also where Canaan's band, Bone House, frequents to play their original music! If you happen to be in the area—it's only a few minutes from the venue!—stop by and check it out! You just might catch some local bands and artists playing, and who doesn't love to support local music?
