FAQs

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Even though we are a couple of sweatpants-loving, band shirt wearing hermits, we want everyone to feel good and look good at the ceremony and the reception. So, with that in mind, please note that this event is semi-formal. However, we can't (and won't!) stop you from lacing up your dancing shoes! Ladies: Please refrain from wearing dark green, floor-length dresses, as that is the attire for the bridesmaids. Gentlemen: Please refrain from wearing black suits, as that is the attire for the groom and his groomsmen.

Question

What is the electronics policy for the ceremony?

Answer

Although we love our photographer friends and family members, we humbly request that our guests be 100% unplugged during the ceremony out of respect for our hired photographer, and also for all those (especially our parents) that are helping make this day happen.

Question

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes! Because the venue is in the Downtown Dayton area, we know that it can be rough for those in wheelchairs or with walkers. We will have ushers guide anyone in need of physical accommodations into the building safely and soundly.

Question

Are you serving alcohol?

Answer

This is going to be a dry event, so no alcohol is permitted in the building during the ceremony and reception. We made this decision for two reasons: One, being that the bride will be underage at the time of the wedding, and Ohio law wouldn't permit anyone under the age of twenty-one to drink on public grounds (getting caught would result in the venue owners getting into legal trouble, as well as her parents and those giving her alcohol). Two: We cherish our little ones, and we don't feel it appropriate for them to be around it in that kind of chaotic social setting. It's not that we don't trust parents, but the possibility of a child getting their hands on an alcoholic beverage is low—never zero. We understand that this may be disappointing for some, but we hope that our guests will respect this boundary, as it is important to us that everyone get home safely and soundly, and your children are protected and healthy. ❤️

Question

How do we RSVP?

Answer

We know that it's custom to send physical RSVPs to the couple before the wedding, but let's face it: when your mail is already full of bills, magazines, and advertisements (we get it Arby's, you have coupons for days 🙄), it could get hard to keep track of which RSVPs are sent, and they sometimes don't even get sent! For these reasons, we think it best to take the 2024, contemporary route and have our guests RSVP online! The RSVP tab will open October 14th at 12:00 am, and will close November 5th at 11:59 pm, and guests will scan the QR code on the back of their invites. Please note that the November 2nd deadline is absolute, so once it closes, it's closed for good!

Question

We'd love to watch the ceremony, but my family can't make it—what do we do?

Answer

Since 2020, a lot of couples have livestreamed their big days for anyone unable to attend. Because we have plenty of family, friends, and loved ones unable to make it, we've decided to livestream the ceremony! Starting at the same time as the ceremony (4:30 P.M. EST), we're going to go on Facebook Live, so all our loved ones are able to attend in spirit! More details to come.

Question

Can we bring a plus-one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are choosing to not allow plus-ones for this event. Anyone not already on the save the dates and invitations will not be accounted for. We understand that this may disappoint some of you, but we appreciate the respect for this request, and we hope to see you on the day!
