We initially met at Julie's 22nd birthday party in Eugene, but didn't see each other again for another seven years on a camping trip with mutual friends at Lake Billy Chinook. Kyle brought the best man's wife as a wingman but Julie still didn't take him seriously until noticing he brought three books for the weekend. Kyle asked for Julie's number at the end of the trip, and we had a perfect first date bar crawling on Belmont a week later - just blocks from where we now live.
After two proposal planning hiccups, Kyle finally found his moment on a hike with friends on Smith Rock outside Bend. Just as the group was about to head back down, Kyle dropped to a knee, nearly fell off the trail and ended up on two knees (Teunes??) to propose. Of course the answer was yes, and we walked down the mountain in an excited daze before celebrating with friends over pizza and beer at 10 Barrel Brew Pub. We're so excited to weave these meaningful moments into our camp wedding with our dearest friends and family. See you in the woods this fall!
